Dear Site Planning Team,

please make a link here once you open a site planning group so dreamers can be redirected there.

Purzel March 11th, 2020 10:09

Thanks for the feedback, I'll make sure to keep that in mind 馃槉

On a different topic, please give me a call when you have time

Site Leads have a need for Site Planning. We will have 3mx3m tent for our base station. We will need access to power (we will have our own a 20m extension cord). Ideally we'd be located near the intersection where First Aid and Rangers were last year because it's centrally-ish located and it's the meeting point for evacuation. Though, I would prefer if it were set away enough from foot traffic and other stations so that we could have sensitive, private discussions there without fear of being overheard.

@Ancka also expressed her verbal support for the dream land idea. Tagging her here so she can read up :)

Bee March 7th, 2020 18:45

Event Co-ordination team is meeting up tomorrow so we can discuss! :)

Saskia (The Fuzzy Facilitator)

Saskia (The Fuzzy Facilitator) March 7th, 2020 16:21

Probably the event coordination tema has an answer on that.

Purzel March 7th, 2020 11:05

I really like that change 馃槉

How will budget decision about infrastructure be proposed? Will there be another platform or just on talk?

Saskia (The Fuzzy Facilitator)

Saskia (The Fuzzy Facilitator) March 7th, 2020 08:39

Hei Leon, you are correct that this is the approach we have to switch the bias from Kieze to art, as Kiez Burn has been supporting its' Kieze for 3 years now and we wanna experiment a bit this year. But in order to make a fuzzy guideline like 'not in your Kiez' more tangible we would like to provide this 'Dream land' as a surefire way to have your artwork be classified as 'outside of Kiez'.

You can read about the changes to dreams here:

Dreams policy change:聽Kieze cannot apply for Dreams grants that take place in the area of the Kiez itself. Dreams funded projects need to take place outside of the Kieze area

  • No infrastructure projects聽that are partially funded by the Kiez Burn Budget can be placed on the Dreams platform

  • Push Art Installations聽higher on the Dreams platform itself (exact implementation tbd)

  • Token redistribution聽tokens that were not spent by the end of the Dreams voting, will be given to Dreams that take place on the Art Plateau聽(last year reference)

  • Timing: bigger projects need confirmation sooner. The Dream-team (pun intended) are committed to pushing to have ticket sale happen sooner, and the token redistribution sooner.

  • Social media push: the Dream-Team is committed to push (bigger) art projects via social media/newsletters/... together with calls to vote on Dreams

Leon Noller

Leon Noller March 7th, 2020 07:40

Hi, i do like the idea. Because this also would mean that most funding will actually go to Dreams and not only Kieze infrastructure. Which seemed to happen more last year, as I understand from some verbal reports.

from my side totally up for making your proposal happen.

Saskia (The Fuzzy Facilitator)

Saskia (The Fuzzy Facilitator) March 6th, 2020 19:53

Dear Site Planners,

in order to be eligble for funding via the dreams platform, projects must be situated outside of Kieze boundaries.
One safe way to do so is, of course, by using the art plateau.

The art plateau, however, offers some disadvantages to certain kinds of structures and may not be the correct place for all kinds of projects.

We would like to offer Kieze another area, like the Art plateau, where they'll be considered as 'outside of their camp' => eligible for funding via dreams.

We're thinking of an area like the one leading up to kinderkiez or the one behind the saloon. Something more safe from weather influences and easier to set up on.

Do you think it would be possible to reserve a 'Dream area'?

waldo March 3rd, 2020 18:41

Dear site planners, I was wondering if you could add your 5 cents to the kiez burn population growth topic: do you see it possible to grow, given the current site?

Purzel February 21st, 2020 05:40

I got myself a chromecast, so we should be able to attach every device via wifi 馃槉

Leon Noller

Leon Noller February 20th, 2020 11:40

We can use my tablet if you get adapter for lightning to hdmi

Purzel February 20th, 2020 10:44

The TV connects by HDMI, there are adapters from mini USB to HDMI, I might be able to get something before tomorrow

Leon Noller

Leon Noller February 19th, 2020 18:24

Ok I鈥檒l bring my iPad just in case.
But don鈥榯 have the adapter cable.

Cl茅ment February 19th, 2020 16:57

I do not have a laptop unfortunately, but would have the necessary cables for whoever has one.
Posted on the event + event description + post in KB group in case someone has one.
Worse case scenario I have an old mac mini that could maybe, maybe work, if we are very patient with it.

Leon Noller February 19th, 2020 12:55

I do get confused. Too many leads ahhh 馃槺

CJ Yetman

CJ Yetman February 19th, 2020 12:50

I think you may be confusing Site Planning Lead with Site Lead (and Site Leads Lead)

Leon Noller

Leon Noller February 19th, 2020 12:48

@Cl茅ment can you bring your Laptop? @Purzel has a screen to connect it to. This way we can look at maps and stuff in big format.
@Purzel do you have the cables for connecting?

Leon Noller

Leon Noller February 19th, 2020 12:43

Ok. I thought @Cl茅ment took over this lead? What did I get wrong?

Cris February 19th, 2020 12:32

following closely with our very dark Rangers intentions... (right, @Gur eilon and Tobi?)

CJ Yetman

CJ Yetman February 18th, 2020 17:03

At some point, I would like to review the site plan and give feedback, from the perspective of the Site Leads... but I trust that @Purzel has a good sense of the same things I would worry about.

Purzel February 18th, 2020 16:49

I麓ll gladlywelcome all of you heros :*

Bee February 18th, 2020 15:43

There are photos for the new Muckwar site here and if you click through to the presentation, there are some maps with a guideline to the site area. 馃槉

For Freiland it is probably worth going back into the 2019 Talk planning and checking out any previous site planning directly. @Hanna-Maija (Animal) or @Jan Thomas (Freiland site liason) may have access to any further resources needed. 馃槉

Leon Noller

Leon Noller February 18th, 2020 11:38

Yes site material would be nice. Like photos and layout of the sites areas

Bee February 18th, 2020 11:04

The location team will make the final decision next Monday 24th 馃槉 feel free to reach out if you need further info for the sites before your meeting.

Cl茅ment February 17th, 2020 18:04

@Purzel are you keen to host at yours on Friday as well?
Otherwise I can host it at mine, not super convenient but possible :)

Cl茅ment February 17th, 2020 13:58

Absolutely !

Meeting on Friday is a great idea anyways, regardless of whether the location is decided or not.

I just sent you a message on Facebook for the event editing :)

Leon Noller

Leon Noller February 17th, 2020 13:39

We still have to decide then we meet

Cl茅ment February 15th, 2020 17:27

Some of us are at the leadership retreat right now tackling this very topic of the advice process and decision making, in order to be able to go forward, so this will change over the next few days and should not impact our meeting :)

Leon Noller

Leon Noller February 15th, 2020 11:09

Not sure what the hitting pause post of the Board means in terms of our meeting. I鈥檇 say we can still discuss just not decide, right?

Leon Noller

Leon Noller February 13th, 2020 19:36

Let鈥檚 have on the 21st. Finishing work (Warschauer Stra脽e) around 3pm, free afterwards. Not available on the 20th and i鈥檇 Love to be able to participate in our next meeting @Cl茅ment pls tell me your FB name and I鈥檒l make you admin of the FB event I already created for our next meeting. Then you can edit the date and stuff like this. Lovely Greets Leon

Hanna-Maija (Animal)

Hanna-Maija (Animal) February 12th, 2020 20:45

And YAY for taking the lead role. I will be handling the Kieze so we will be working together I imagine!

Hanna-Maija (Animal)

Hanna-Maija (Animal) February 12th, 2020 20:44

I will have to call in but that should not be a problem x

Cl茅ment February 12th, 2020 20:18

Hey all, as discussed during the Leads meeting with @Hanna-Maija (Animal) and @Purzel, it might be worthwhile to postpone this next meeting by a couple days, and to have it on Friday 21st instead.
- The location proposal is aiming at a community poll ending on the 20th, with a decision made afterwards, likely the 20th as well. Likely, but not certain.
- Hanna-Maija isn't free on the 18th, and people (myself included) seem to agree that having her to go through how last year went in order to create an efficient and satisfying process this year is important.
Could I get your 馃憤 ,馃憥 or reply on this comment to say whether you agree to have this meeting on the 20th?
(you being anyone reading this and interested to participate, I can make a post and event on the Kiez Burn Facebook group if we go with this)

As a side note, I decided to step up to be Site Planning Lead this year.
This is of course open to discussion if anyone has strong feelings towards it, I am certain we can make an amazing Site Planning together in any case 馃檪

Leon Noller

Leon Noller February 10th, 2020 17:58

@Hanna-Maija (Animal) sadly can鈥檛 make it today. Wish a good meeting. @Cl茅ment not keen for the leading role, so go for it ;)

Hanna-Maija (Animal)

Hanna-Maija (Animal) February 10th, 2020 11:34

Damn I can't make it that day. Friends birthday. If someone wants to have a phone call with me before that (or have a chat tonight at the leads meeting) I am up! :) xx

Hanna-Maija (Animal)

Hanna-Maija (Animal) February 10th, 2020 11:33

Heya! Hoping to see you at the 1st leads meeting tonight!

Last year the site planning was mostly done by the camps and artists themselves which resulted in a bit of a chaos but was not that much work for the Site Lead. I think a combination of these two would probably be the best solutions. Happy to talk more face to face! :)

Purzel February 10th, 2020 03:14

We already set a date and place, on the 18. Of Feb around 1930 in my place. Hopefully the decision on the venue will be final by than.

I hope that you can make it 馃槉

Purzel February 10th, 2020 03:13

So far nobody has stepped up as far as I know, i want to support but i already have a lead role and dont want to overdue it with another one so I'm happy if you're doing it 馃槉

Hanna-Maija (Animal)

Hanna-Maija (Animal) February 9th, 2020 16:42

Hi all, sorry I have been travelling / offline and not responsive.

I am happy to see you guys have started this process. I am happy to be the advisor for the team since I was doing some of the site planning last year for so keep me posted of the next meetings! :) x

Cl茅ment February 9th, 2020 10:35

Hi @Leon Noller @Purzel @Ancka , was a Lead Role already decided for the Site Planning team?
If not, I am willing to take that on, however also happy to let someone else step up, as I see this more as a group effort and discussion rather than relying on the shoulders of one individual.
The work could be coordinated between the Site Planning team members with different areas like Camps placement and Art placement, sharing the load between the team while requiring constant communication and decision making.

Leon Noller

Leon Noller February 1st, 2020 13:45

We鈥檝e meet and realized there鈥檚 not much to do until finalization of location.

Since Poll on Location Decision will be going until 14th February

we decided to CALL A MEETING for the 18TH of FEBRUARY. Starting 6pm.

Meet up at Purzel Place (in case no other more central location is suggested): Siegfriedstra脽e 138, 10365 Berlin (Lichtenberg).

Until then maybe we also have a Lead Role for the Team, considering the Leads Meeting happening beforehand.

Heres the Facebook Event:

Leon Noller

Leon Noller January 31st, 2020 20:11

Actually also still need the address. 1-2pm sounds fine.

Purzel January 31st, 2020 19:37

So far the plan was to meet around 1300

Cl茅ment January 31st, 2020 18:53

Around what time were you thinking of having this?

Cl茅ment January 31st, 2020 16:00

I'd love to join as well to get the ball rolling!
As far as Freiland maps go, we still have the Site plan from last year

Ancka January 31st, 2020 12:44

Hey, Interested to join. Let me know the adress

i might have a map Freiland

Leon Noller

Leon Noller January 31st, 2020 00:28

I鈥榤 in. Your place is fine for me. Map material would be nice.

Purzel January 30th, 2020 13:53

Hey everyone 馃槉 Saturday is abbroaching soon and I have some thoughts on it.

I disagree with the proposal of meeting at the co working event as I can see a problem of limited space at the embassy and conflicting noise levels when we hold a meeting while others are working by themselves or in small groups in the same room. As far as I know, the embassy only has the one meeting room.

Initially, @Leon Noller and I planned it at my flat. I have enough space to host a group upto at least 5 people and a whiteboard that we can use. The possible downside is that the location is in lichtenberg, which is probably further that Alex for some of you.

What do you think?

Anyone else knows a meeting location quite and big enough that is more central?

What about?

In our decision process we're now down to 2 possible locations. Kiezburn and Kingdom of muckwar. I can try to get my hands on map material of the kingdom, does someone has maps from freiland?

January 23rd, 2020 21:29

Yes. Let鈥檚 do it.
brainstorming and getting to known each other sounds good

January 23rd, 2020 16:15

I would personally wait for Hanna Maija to be back, as her experience could be really useful.
Meeting at this stage, while keeping the enthusiasm up, could prove to not be efficient without a set location + hands on experience from previous task owner.
Meeting soon is in any case a positive thing and I'll happily join, regardless of when it ends up happening :)

Leon Noller

Leon Noller January 23rd, 2020 13:51

Me too 馃榿

Leon Noller

Leon Noller January 23rd, 2020 13:50

I鈥檇 say how to do since until now we don鈥檛 actually have a site.

Jeff Spirlock

Jeff Spirlock January 22nd, 2020 23:21

I'm intrigued by the thought of site planning without knowing the venue. Sounds very challenging.

January 22nd, 2020 22:30

I cannot come unfortunately, but love that this is on! Maybe though, might be better to combine it somehow, or to call a meeting with a wider topic. So for example, you could call for a meeting on sound & site planning. (just do it!)

waldo January 22nd, 2020 22:23

Is the goal of the meeting to define the site plan, or is it to discuss how to do site planning? As a reference, last year, this was my proposal regarding self-organized site planning/placement: that also got implemented. Given this did not work so well, might be interesting to iterate on it and define what should be discussed in order to make it work smoother :)

And @leonnoller, for meetings like this, I would maybe more advise a "check-vote", where you can see who is interested. It is not super relevant to see what the community thinks.

On polls: the goal of polls is not the voting, we are not a democracy, the goal is to stimulate the giving of more feedback, so a better decision can be reached.

Purzel January 22nd, 2020 21:11

I麓m Hans

January 22nd, 2020 21:00

I love how motivated everyone is but I think it麓s better when we start planning after we decided for the venue <3

But my offer to host the meeting still stands if I麓m outvotet :)

separate meeting later on.

I still would like to meet up on 01.02. cause we had a good flow going on. Don鈥檛 wanna lose that completely.

But that doesn鈥檛 mean that at the meeting after that everything is planned.

More for brainstorming and getting to know each other.

So in terms of our principles. Pls vote to get a community decision

S.c. And sound are basically connected and therefore clearly restricted to a certain area.
For this also the circles on the sound area to make sure that different music doesn鈥檛 collides

Leon Noller

Leon Noller January 21st, 2020 14:12

We chose to work with a flat area to build a map. It is actually a location which came while scouting but is full of mines.

Let鈥檚 have a meeting when Hanna is there.
I was involved with site planning at the first Kiezburn and I would like to join again.

Jeff Spirlock

Jeff Spirlock January 21st, 2020 09:33

I would not allow sound camps to put the systems separate from their camps, it increases the chances of rogue DJs being able to be too loud. The closer it is to the camp the more likely the camp will be to regulate noise levels because it impacts their camp the most.

Purzel January 20th, 2020 22:37

Well, if Hanna wants to join, i麓d definetly vote that we wait for the first meeting until she is able to be there :)

Cl茅ment January 20th, 2020 08:18

Hi @leonnoller :)
I'm a bit confused with the basic infrastructure map, is that based off Freiland or another area in particular?
Also interested to join the meeting on 01.02, please note that Hanna-Maija, who was site planning lead last year would want to have her hands on it, and mentionned having some ideas on how to improve it.
I'd think it'd be important to have her on that meeting, however she's only back in Berlin on 09.02 as far as I know :)
