(Proposal) Safety Protocols Re-write

B Bee Public Seen by 32

Proposer:

@Bee @Franzi

Proposer’s role:

I am a member of the Board, as well as KORG 2020-21.

I am an ex board member and we decided after KB 2019 that the protocols need an update.

The advice process

Information gathered before posting

I have talked in advance to @CJ Yetman regarding this, as well as this being brought up in discussion last year (2020) as part of the KB KORG planning.

I have also asked for advice from Patrick, the ranger lead on shift during the eviction, Kinder Kiez and current board members.

People/roles most affected by this proposal

  • Site Leads: @CJ Yetman

  • Rangers: @Cris @Jessie

  • Welfare/First Aid: @River Aleks @Purzel

  • Fire @Professor Kaos

  • Kinderkiez @Jan Thomas

People/roles with the most knowledge and experience relevant to this proposal:

  • Has previously been site leads Lead and engaged with the protocols in action: @CJ Yetman

  • Anyone else who was involved with site leading/problem solving following protocols: Patrick, Janina

The proposal

Background

There has been an update necessary since last years' planning began for Kiez Burn in order to make sure the protocols fit the community better and are relevant to the land also. Following some escalation of events in the 2019 Kiez Burn it has been mentioned by previous Site Leads that more clarity could be achieved.

The proposal

Here are the current protocols:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cEm-6IrxJo__Ffxrld_DC2stQrVN78KEdoTHqQ8W_Po/edit

(We would like this also to be translated into German, but I am not going to be personally accountable for that as it would probably be detrimental if I did it myself. However if there are folk stepping up to help with language mastery skills to share then it would be the goal to have both English and German language formats available to the community).

Implementation Plan:

  • Board to sign off

  • Translation to German - already flagged with @julian

  • Hand over to realizers

    • Realizers than train their areas on the safety protocols

  • Protocols printed and foiled by realizers for their area. Every area needs a hard copy.

Update 7.7.21:

Here is the updated version after seeking advice from all mentioned parties. I actively talked to everyone and invited them to co-edit the doc with me. I have marked all changes that have been made. In a nutshell: add firemarshalls, add eviction process, change after advice from kinderkiez, smaller edits after discussions with @Purzel

Please review the document and add in any comments or qq you might have. This is still up for debate and by no means final :)

The current board @Mareike @Cris @Veroca R. Sala @Professor Kaos @jck @Alejandro Pereda @Bee - please review and share qq or concerns. Once its all good from your site. Please give a "go". (happy to sit down and walk you through the protocols)

For the realizers @River Aleks @Jessie @Cris @Purzel @CJ Yetman please read the sections that are affecting your area and share if you have any concerns. (Comment in the doc)

People that worked with the protocols in the past: @Remy Schneider @waldo

Note: I have not updated the graphics, will do that after we agree on the protocol :)

Update 8.7.21:

Franzi has taken over the realizer role for this, and as 'Protocols Secretary' will be presenting the new updated protocols at the next Board meeting 19/20th June for approval.

When a decision was reached, write on top of the thread:

A decision has been made

  • Who made the decision: Your name

  • When was the decision made: Date

  • Decision Summary: Short version of what you have decided

Cool, thanks for the input! Point 2. maybe a thing the Club commission can help out with. We could check if there's room for that in the upcoming event (23.-25.3. online Konferenz) @Mareike

Thanks! Short sighted of me to miss out such a vital KORG member! I also changed the URL for the document as it was linked to the version in my personal Drive and not the KB one - you should be able to access now.
