hi, is this human transport or kieze materials transport? these are two different things and probably two very different transports and prices. Also consider its not to easy as it sounds to rent a transport only for build and "re-rent it" for strike. Where would you leave the van during the event?

The general production van might be able to help Kieze to transport some essential stuff the Kieze might need to have a proper set up, this could be kitchen equipment for instance.

This is still to be confirmed. I cant give much detail, but certainly, production will not transport personal gear from the kieze members no mattresses, and also not human transport. will come back with some more info.

Hi! We will bring stuff there on Sunday morning. Might have some space but we won't know for sure before Saturday evening when the car is loaded (its kinda hard to estimate). But for 1sqm I see a chance. You only need it for the way there? And do you have people on site Sunday to receive it?

J

julia Tue 6 Jul 2021 2:43PM

Hi @Veroca R. Sala this is for Kieze material, no humans, no personal stuff (unless we have leftover space). The idea was to rent a transporter in Berlin, drive stuff to Freiland on the first day of build, returning the transporter to Berlin. Then some of us will go back on Sunday to Berlin, some stay for strike, one person that goes to Berlin rents a transporter in Berlin on Monday, drives to Freiland to pick up our stuff and bring the transporter (and stuff) back to Berlin.

Would be great to know of course if some large items could fit in the general production van, thanks for checking!

Hey Jan :) That would fit perfect for our needs , since we are a new Camp and have very little things in storage, we will have to bring up a lot from Berlin. But after that the Van would be there for picking things up at storage. Maybe we can talk on a call about it?

early next week sounds good to me.

Hey @Mi Go , we likely have space on a run from berlin to site on Saturday 07.08. and also have a transporter on site on Sunday 08.08. to do runs from storage to site (multiple, possible). If this is interesting to you, get in touch via telegram/phone: 015251371946.

Also other Kieze that are interested in using the transporter for runs on late Saturday/early Sunday, get in touch pls :)

UnderWorld has a trailer on site you can definetly use for free to get things from storage to the site (open for all camps). We hope we can fit everything into the trailer + all the vans we have in the camp to get from Berlin to the site. But if big things in Berlin pop up that need to be transported to the site for build, we might also be interested in sharing transport to Freiland.

J

julia Thu 8 Jul 2021 1:58PM

Love it, thanks @Annette This seems a good way to get an overview. Then we can just make direct contact for Kieze that have similar or complementary needs and save ourselves a larger call?

J

julia Mon 12 Jul 2021 1:19PM

@Stefan you are currently the only one also wanting to go back to Berlin, is that still the plan? We don't have a driver for strike, just for build. So if we don't find a Kiez to team up with we'll probably put our stuff in storage instead and get it later.

J

julia Mon 12 Jul 2021 1:21PM

@Annette does that offer stand for strike as well? Using the trailer to get stuff from site to storage? Also, we will definitely go with a big car from Berlin, unclear how much space we have / need but if you all have something that doesn't fit in your cars let us know and we can see if we can help out

Hi @julia! Thanks for checking in. Sounds like @Stefan will be able to give us some space between Berlin and site. We shared some messages today.

Unfortunately our first three build crew don't arrive until Monday so we are still hoping to find a solution for moving stuff from storage. They have a driver's license.

I think the spreadsheet initiative is a good way to start, maybe a larger call is unnecessary and we can just coordinate more directly? Let's see if we get some infos together in the next few days

Hi @julia The days are flexible, if there is any possibility of space, it would be a lifesaver. What days will your kiez have a transport?

VRS

Veroca R. Sala Tue 6 Jul 2021 3:01PM

ok, I see you are managing the logistics in detail.馃憣 It is good that you guys organize this. The production van is not so big because this year we are renting 2 small ones instead of 1 large one.

One van could potentially be of use for the Kieze to drive to and from berlin to Freiland, I wouldn't say large items will fit in there. I m not sure what you mean with large but as I say, the offer comes to transport, deco materials in a certain amount, lights, essentially kitchen supplies gas cookers, fire extinguisher, and all these equipment really needed to set up a camp

Im also trying to organize and make this offer available for those Kieze that joined pretty late and have nothing on storage. So they are able to move some basics.

If you feel you can organize your own transport with other Kieze and you dont really need the S.O.S from production, that is wonderful and a great example for future years, I see you have kicked a nice initiative here already.馃帀

If something is left of course we could squeeze it in, However, all this production transport thing is not yet 100% confirmed.

Hi @Mi Go we won't have a van on site during those days, hope you'll find a solution!

Hello lovely people, LazyPyjamFort Camp (aka PjamCakes aka Blanket Fort) is looking for solutions for transporting our stuff from storage before the Org's deadline of Wednesday noon, and for moving stuff back during strike.

We also have some things that need to come from Berlin to site and back - but not a lot (~1 sqm).

Very very happy to share costs if another kiez is open to making a van available 馃檹

I added our Kiez to Annette's spreadsheet, and will update it soon with an inventory.

We have drivers during build and strike.

I think best - also to be independent from korg production - would be to set up a google sheet to get an overview and see what are the transport needs from each camp and how we can collaborate. I made a sheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1PJoEqmPe3GfbClA_piS_p-e0aAKjR2wjBxHbdKz-qH8/edit?usp=sharing

At Nubicuculia we're currently figuring out our needs and space requirements but are also interested in sharing transport from and to Berlin - we're planning to rent a transporter for at least the first day of build

Jan Thomas Wed 7 Jul 2021 8:45AM

Kinderkiez is also interested in sharing some transport - for us it's mostly about getting stuff from storage to site and back. But could also fill some space in a van going to and from the site... I.e. quite flexible and happy to chip in, thanks!

julia Tue 6 Jul 2021 2:44PM

Great @Zach Dunton and @Jarlo . We are also trying to estimate how much space we need currently. Maybe we can set up a quick call this weekend or early next week?

ZD

Zach Dunton Tue 6 Jul 2021 12:05PM

Bandana Republic/D-Box are also interested in transport. We will need a medium amount of space.I will try and figure out exact dimensions this week.

J

Jarlo Tue 6 Jul 2021 7:20AM

@julia Hi,

We (Kunst Kunts) had the same idea. Especially for the Strike , since most of our stuff is going to the storage and just a few things are going back to Berlin.

For the Build we will have quite some things , but if you dont have that much to transport up, maybe we can collaborate both ways even. :)

Wonderful! Thanks for doing this.

I tag @Erin Jeavons-Fellows ( Kieze Facilitator) to pass this link to the Kieze.

Hi,
we from the Mellow Submarine Kiez were thinking about how to get our stuff to and from Freiland. We don't have a huge amount of stuff, but definitely would need some sort of transporter. Currently thinking to rent one for a day at the beginning of build, and one day for strike, and have one of us drive from Berlin to Freiland and back both times. To avoid paying for a car to just stand around for several days.

Wondering if any other Kieze would be interested in sharing a transporter, or if you all have better ideas or solutions how to organize material transport?
