To whom is this thread?

This thread is to Korg members and whoever wants to help and support the Orga team to recruit hippies. Comment and suggest those ideas you have in mind.

I'm here to open a discussion on how are we gonna do recruitment of Realizers for the Event. I think it's a very important topic to be well thought & followed-up.

We gather for a small introductory meeting about Realities with Bee, Alex, and JCK + small talk on recruitment in general.

So far we agreed that Realities it is not yet to be our Volunteer Portal and it is now a not so sexy mapping that enables sign-up, that is it!

Small updates will be done though.

What is Realities?

RECRUITMENT from the Korg:

As the current pandemic makes our lives a bit more tricky and it doesn't let us host in-person meetings where we have the chance to chit chat and get closer to newcomers to explain and invite, we have to find the way around it.

Currently the Korg is using this google Form. Feel free to make suggestions in the comments or make modifications in the form if you think it is needed.

(Access is limited to only members as protection of personal data of applicants)

What to do with this data?

  • We could share this form (signup) during meetings and through social media to get people to show interest + newsletters

  • Once a week or so, we go through new answers and send a Welcome email to new applicants.

  • Every time there is a meeting we extend and a special invitation for those (?)

  • Once they are in, they can be guided to go ahead and sign up on Realities

    The current welcome email used is available here

    Here some drafts of templates for these welcome & Thank you emails (in progress please chip in)

Who volunteers for that? follow up + sending invitations + welcomes

I wanna highlight the importance of keeping the motivation from ppl that sign up and how difficult is to hold this momentum without being able to make gatherings or in-person meetings. A thank you email and regular updates, check-ins are key.

update:

@Cairn (Clément) is mainly managing the signup form and applications.
He sends the welcome email to interested people, along with the contact detail of the current Realizer of an area of interest, or the contact of the Guide, when there is no Realizer yet.

Nonspecific role sign ups

As we have seen some ppl are signing up for nonspecific roles and some of them for the same Realizer roles.

How do we keep these people in touch if they need each other somehow and we have in our power their contact information which has to be preserved (?)

It seems to need more attention than we wished (?)

Update:

Kiez Burn Coaching Team

these are a couple of peoples that will be the touchpoint to first newcomers, we share our phone number/email during meetings to those confused hippies to get in touch with them directly answering questions 1-on-1's. So far those "couchers" are:

@The Lord of Fire (Schatzmeister) (Alex)

@Veroca R. Sala

@Cris

@Cairn (Clément)

Telegram Channel -

https://t.me/kiezburn

The telegram channel is already live, and I suggest we also invite everyone in every meeting to join this channel where we hang up the google form in its description DONE

I can volunteer to send announcements/link to talk and spread the good news. While whoever of the Korg wants to announce something should be able to do it because all korgis will be admins.

Question do we all agree on going forward with it? if so then off we go.

Update:

Telegram channel is live and currently (Feb2021) has got 180 members.All korgis are admins.

Next Steps (?)

  1. Finalize the sign up through the previous form --> here the spreadsheet with their responses (restricted access only for the Korg + some board members)

  2. Enable the new form --> still to add some questions like "were you a realized before?" copy from the previous form)

  3. Migrate all ppl from the previous sheet onto a second tab so we have those names at hand.

  4. Enable the telegram channel link if we decided so.

What about the timeline?

Timeline is done here

Shall we talk more about recruitment? Make this thread bigger, add more topics or concerns.

Yeah what we are trying to do is set a bridge and get the humans attention right?

Some ideas that come to mind now, we can see the feasibility of them together and I can take lead:
What if we make a kickoff event? Zoom/stream and homeburn style.
Different rooms/different camps and we challenge the camp leads to get us volunteers.

It doesn't have a name yet, there is an idea: to open a telegram channel only for announcements (comments are disabled) so to spread news or call outs.

Nice daisy, I really love the idea❤️, I wanna point out this would be ONE step forward: "how to host meetings more engaging and fun" . Im sure we really need that

Even that I think it would be a whole topic (a new thread) that will help all realizers to host online meetings by copying or getting inspired by your initiative. @Henrik 🤖 had a very nice idea, maybe you guys want to connect and talk about this platform I don't remember its name, but he offered for the first kick off in December. I personally liked it very much, I think it could work.

But so we don't move too much away from the topic itself. What this thread concern is: responsibilities distribution within the Korg to connect ppl with realizers ( recruitment), meetings and making a timeline for the event.
