Kiez Burn build/setup

W walto Public Seen by 175

We need people to set up the Kiez Burn backbone - building the infrastructure that enables the important shit to happen, so builders can transform to sparkle ponies and go dash in the green fields, eating strange flowers & glittery sweat on dancefloors & art projects alike.

Leads 2019: @gureilon and Alex Kasper

What is build/setup?

This year the production team will not be building anything big (no gate or effigy). Instead, we are focused on setting everything up, enabling the event to take place.

Build starts: Friday evening 14/06 and goes until morning of Wednesday 19/06

A full overview of all the tasks: https://realities.kiezburn.org/f61f1996-a5e0-41eb-83e3-625429a6f94e and please sign up:
- either for the general need (so being build lead)
- or for singular responsibilities, and then be responsible for coordinating it.

The big chunks of work:

  1. help set up the kitchen: the Deine Mudda kitchen will support builders & strikers. This will be a collaborative project with @ottojuanbrunoriver (kitchen lead) and @svendudink (Deine Mudda build lead).
  2. clean out storage, transport it to site, lay it out and distribute it fairly among infrastructure projects (several days) - https://photos.app.goo.gl/DwMLns4UmusrPz2S6
  3. enabling signs, site perimeter, sound checks,... to do their job
  4. support Toolhaus operations (mainly logistics) - Otto = toolbitch
  5. purchasing & setting up the temporary shelters for feuerwehr (1 tent) & security (1 more tent) & first aid (another tent) and one back up (one last one) - 4 tents
  6. clean up the whole site of things that block kieze
  7. Organize a van (e.g. sprinter) for transporting shit around site and to/from storage from build to end of strike. (insured!!!!) (so friday before event to Tuesday/Wednesday after event) (everyone needs to be able to drive it)
  8. assist in volunteer coordination - https://kiezburn.org/get-involved/volunteer/ - realizer: @verocarsala

What do you have to do here?

  1. communicating with everyone that potentially needs help in getting ready
  2. planning of the work & determine the amount of volunteers needed
  3. purchasing the relevant items (and van)
  4. discuss budget with KBORG (@alexxx is your man there)
  5. during build: be available from early morning till evening, constant liaising with everyone (do they need help?)

What is next?

First of all, I (Waldo) will not be helping with the build as such, I am merely searching for a team that will take it over, consensual do-ocracy style like.

How you divide the responsibilities, is to be determined by you. Some possibilities:
- there is a build/setup lead and then coordinates between everyone so that all the responsibilities are taken (https://realities.kiezburn.org/f61f1996-a5e0-41eb-83e3-625429a6f94e)
- there is no build lead - then you need to work as a team, get together etc. and make sure all the responsibilities are shared between you
- some other setup I have not thought of.

I´m organising the rent and transport for the tent and Bierzeltgarnituren for 1st aid/feuerwehr. Hopefully pick up will be Saturday, transport with the build can be pooled with the build van @gureilon? Also need the money in cash @alexxx (around 100 EUR). Will keep you updated if we get an invoice, but as its a private contact I don´t count on it.

@gureilon Hi Gur, as in my role of welfare-co-lead I would like to connect with you about welfare. The welfare yurt needs a 4.20m-pole to raise the yurt. Last year a tree-pole of that size was organized (by the build crew) together with a long re-bar and 2 ratchet-straps. it is need for the build of the yurt on the 15th and 16th of June. Can you please get in touch?

A reminder for those interested/going for build. The Volunteer kitchen will only feed the people approved on this list here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HIl-N9AXhy5R9wc_DmTDaN0LAN1UN8EQw-GgxE1as58/edit#gid=376972108. No one else, mostly because it isn't planned for (food count wise). Additionally, it will also feed the people of Deine Mudda kiez, that are approved for our internal build

Hey all, this might not be the right location for this- so please direct to a better place to post if there is one. I have a dream art project. It requires transporting a smallish? Mediumish? amount of wood to KB. Any idea where to post about finding room in someone's transport?

Hi there! Is there a plan for grey water disposal yet? Is there anyone at Freiland or at Kiezburn I can get in contact with about that?

Hey there,
I am going to be the build driver on Sunday the 16th. When do I have to be on the ground? I assume something around 10am?

Hi Mudda and @abelstobias, @cristinaolano, @svendudink, Keegan, @waldo

Thanks Tobi for bringing back the Standrohr to the council water provider. Not sure if Tobi reads this during strike but maybe the others can give him the information.
The Standrohr needs to go back to GKU Demmin, address: Bahnhofstraße 27
17109 Demmin, contact person there is Silke Wendt (tel: 0 39 98 2827 817). Opening hours are probably in the morning but will check today.
The location of the Standrohr is outside of Freiland, take the western exit past Lemon Camp, go left at the cobble stone road and it's after the cemetery on the left hand side. It's like a hydrant with a tap and water meter. You need to screw the whole thing off and take the water meter reading. For the hand over you will also need the initial water meter reading (Sven should have it, or Robert from Freiland (+4915126826538)) .
At GKU Demmin you will get the 150€ Deposit back and they will write an invoice for Kiezburn (invoice address should be: Kiez Burn e.V, c/o Sedlak, Bänschstraße 83, 10247 Berlin).
Tha is everyone for the amazing week at Kiezburn.
Daniel

Also, I forgot to take the yellow 50 m garden hose from the plateau, opposite of the pizza oven. It's Kiezburn's. Could someone pick it up for storage? Thanks!
