KiezKon 2022
Mission
A day at Monopol full of workshops, seminars, art and games preparing us for our wonderful Kiez Burn.
Workshop ideas
If we can do these then Kiez Burn will be a better Burn:
Ranger Training (for all)
Welfare Training (for all)
Mediation Training
Principles Discussion Panels
Consent Training
How to LNT
Conflict Escalation Training
If we do these then you will have a better Kiez Burn
Yoga, Meditation & Breathwork
Flow Arts
The principles of building a safe structure
How to source materials
How to Advice Process
Camp Kitchen group discussion - skills and resource sharing
How to hand in receipts for your dreams
Meet the Board
Meet the Korg
And much, much more!!!
What do we have?
A secured location (an old distillery) with plenty of space for everyone to attend at no cost
5-7 separated indoor locations
3 covered outdoor areas
Loads more outdoor space
A community of badasses that can’t wait to get together, co-create and share knowledge
What do we need?
-
Some funding from Kiez Burn e.V. in order to secure material costs and some Art
3000€ would more than suffice)
-
The aforementioned community of badasses that can’t wait to get together, co-create and share knowledge to get together, co-create and share knowledge
We need workshop hosts. Especially if you are interested in hosting any of the topics listed above
We need realizers to use this as an opportunity to educate and train the community
We need the korg to use this as an opportunity to share knowledge and touch base with new members
We would like for the community to see how awesome the Board is, and how cool being on the board is. If there’s one thing a burner should aspire to, it’s being on the board. Did I mention boardies are cool? And sexy. You should try it out!
What can you do?
This is where you can show off your Communal Effort, Participation & Radical Self-Reliance.
Take the initiative and grab a role or workshop. Dive right in, you don’t need permission (but consent is very sexy!)

Not going, so officially abstaining, but totally agree with whoever said let them do it for donations.

Indeed, I am keen to encourage a stronger experience of the principals. No Commerce is one that I find radically changes my experience, but a part of that is the abundance of food and drink one experiences at a burn (in conjunction to the lack of money).
There are many ways to increase participation at Kiez Kon, I tried quite a few, but not many people are biting. So we either say 'fuck it' or we try something else (which is why we're here doing this poll). I just don't have the free-time to explore some of the more fun options right now (incl. messaging everyone directly, making really nice graphics, a fancy website, having a proper promotional plan). I had hoped an early contributor might have some more skills in that department......

Sorry about the Decommodification/No Commerce thing. I tried to change it as soon as I noticed, but someone had already voted and I couldn't remove it. from the list. I thought it better to leave than make a new poll.

Donations does fall with the realm of 'commerce'. It's Commerce if you're 'gifting' with the hope of a return gift, that's not gifting as we have aspired to practice it. Donations is more like stacking 'trading' (exchange) with 'gambling' (an uncertain exchange).

Difficult question. On one hand I see the need for fundraising opportunities, and having already a lot of people in one place would spare the need to set up and “advertise”, and it would actually help a number of people to survive the day (and maybe better than buying in the neighborhood). The participation and effort increasements might work from the camps itselves and also with additional people meeting their camps, and others. For city-based pre compression style events the cooperation with “vendors” is not unusual, and keeping money within the community doesn’t seem to be a bad thing. But it feels a bit strange in the light of the production budget that the community “pays” to create this opportunity.
It could be worth to look into more possibilities to increase participation and also how to create fundraising opportunities, which are organized like that from the beginning (like some Kieze already did at H13, the Burner Embassy and other locations).
