Changing hosts due to instability

H Henrik 🤖 Public Seen by 15

Hey guys, we need to change to a different hosting product, because the VM we're using keeps crashing at random times.

I messaged support on 1fire.de (our current host) about the frequent VM crashes and they said, it's a problem with known bugs in OpenVZ 7 (the vm manager they're using), which is why the VM product we're using is actually a beta product and therefore super cheap (3€ per month, the beta part wasn't in the product description).

We could switch to a different more stable product on 1fire.de (I like them, because they're using 100% green energy) which would start at 7€ per month, or move to another host (suggestions?).

What do you guys think?

Hi Henrik, I'm satified customer of hetzner.de where we could get a virtual root server for 3€/month (1CPU, 2GB RAM, 20GB SSD). Until now I had no problems there.

Either 100% wind in Finland or 100% water in Germany... https://www.hetzner.de/unternehmen/umweltschutz/ :raised_hands:

Hi, i just got aware of a hoster called uberspace.de where we could get managed servers (so not root servers). Their business is less businessy than hetzner and we would not have to care for OS, webserver, db and other updates... Also 100% green energy but aditionally donation based pricing... A colleague of mine uses their service and is really satisfied.

And regarding the setup: I don't have time today but tomorrow I could join you (remotely?)...

Do they have green energy options? Not saying that this is a must have, but it would be nice 🌳
