Yes, auger is a drilling/boring machine. That’s something Waldo really wanted one year.

Veroca R. Sala Thu 3 Jun 2021 7:43AM
Yea we need to rent that tool and probably some shovels... to be confirmed on the burning spark if there are tools available, once the build plan is finalised we will know what to rent. realizer for the role is being introduced to the team.

updated this thread; added storage lead

Erin Jeavons-Fellows Tue 8 Jun 2021 12:05PM
So in the past the way it was 5 places for build, which are additional to people who build dreams, art or in korg. These people have to have german health insurance to be allowed on site.
Up to 5 places for build of camp
Up to 5 places for dreams
Then KORG people.
If something has changed, we would need to communicate this
@Franzi

Erin Jeavons-Fellows Mon 12 Jul 2021 7:00PM
This is good to know. Kunts will def take some. @Natacha Kromatik is across this for us. I wil reach out to kieze.
Caro T Tue 29 Jun 2021 3:52PM
when you find out, let The House Of Plenty know, we might be interested in the rest ;)

walto Wed 9 Jun 2021 10:10PM
previous years we were happy with any health insurance that has coverage in Germany. This has to do with the fact that Kiez Burn might otherwise become liable for any health costs that would be incurred when an accident happens on-site during build. I see no reason why this would be different this year.

Erin Jeavons-Fellows Mon 21 Jun 2021 6:21PM
Hi CJ, on the 14th of june i sent out an email with alot of information titled low income ticket deadline with a whole document about FAQ, comms channels and next meeting. Can you check your email. Youre on the list.
I will be sending another email out this evening to remind people about the meeting and the comms channels.

CJ Yetman Tue 22 Jun 2021 9:15AM
thanks, I'll check my spam folder
Sven Dudink Tue 29 Jun 2021 10:05AM
Yes Electrical cooking is possible if camp buys enough power to support, so ca 2 KW min depending on heatplate

@Erin Jeavons-Fellows What should we do if one (and only one) of our to-be kiez members was not able to secure a ticket via regular ticket sale? We have been rather late in registering the Kiez and haven't been included in the mail regarding direct ticket sales.

Erin Jeavons-Fellows Sun 27 Jun 2021 2:39PM
Maybe this discussion would be more seen on the organisers facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1069466359862617

Also here in this thread some old kieze have shared their mastersheet. How they organize their finances, kitchen and all! Feel free to copy this resource and make it your own. https://talk.kiezburn.org/d/fOd2mvE7/how-might-we-organise-our-camps-

CJ Yetman Thu 1 Jul 2021 1:12PM
Once your registration has been processed, your Kiez will appear here: https://kiezburn.org/kieze-2021/

Cris Mon 12 Jul 2021 3:47PM
We can just be in touch during Build, once we've transported everything to site. That'd be the first possible time we'll discover the mysteries of the Lemon Treasure..
@Cairn (Clément) also may be interested in mattress

CJ Yetman Fri 4 Jun 2021 5:37AM
My camp has never used one, so I doubt the “all camps”, but ok.

CJ Yetman Mon 12 Jul 2021 2:54PM
@erinjeavonsfellows Build will be renting some tables and benches (Bierzeltgarnitur style) from a local source, and there's a tentative offer from Build to make a bulk order with Kieze maybe, which would make it easier for the provider to make a single delivery and pick-up, and might result in some discount. I'm still waiting to get a bit more specificity about the situation, but could/would you or someone handle making a Kieze order sheet for that and help promote it among the Kieze? FYI @natachakromatik

I would like to draw attention of camp leads to this thread set up by @julia who is looking for other Kieze who would like to organise shared transport!

Dear 💪🔥
we registered our kiez – ♥️ LOVEzarett 🏥 – yesterday evening.
While that was pretty easy to fill out we are not sure if the document was sent? Is there a site where we can check that? And what is happening next? :)
So long we will fill out all the other spreadsheet-forms (power) and work through the amazing FAQ! Thank you all for bringing this together.

Cris Tue 29 Jun 2021 9:42AM
For the record: Deine Mudda absorbed part of Lemon Camp members and had already arranged with them the raid of Lemon Camp materials. We could def share something with someone, since we were interested in a pair of particular items. The only thing is: no one really knows what's in that pile :)
Purzel Sun 27 Jun 2021 1:44PM
Hey @Svanu ,
This is the link where we discuss all things considered firesafety. I made a rough set of rules, what we will consider safe usage of gas cookers there.
https://talk.kiezburn.org/d/e7tCUY4X/fire-safety-and-security-
If you have a look in the thread about Power, as far as I know you can also use electrival means of cooking.
I personally would recommend you to get some form of tent in case of rain or sunshine but you can't close it all up because of covid.
I hope that's a bit of a start for you. 😊
Svanu Sun 27 Jun 2021 11:56AM
Hey People!
I'm looking for some tips or recommendations for organising our camp's kitchen. Preferably, we'd like to cook on gas, but as I've gathered there are strict fire safety issues. Obviously, we can't chuck a gascooker on the ground and be done. But I'm wondering what would be considered an adequately safe kitchen besides having a fire extinguisher. Will having a big table dedicated to cooking suffice? Does it need to be in a (semi)closed space? If so, what would be a practical way of achieving this?
Basically, I'm looking for kitchen solution ideas for a smallish camp (we're 15-20 people). How do other camps organise this?
Alina Thu 24 Jun 2021 4:54PM
I’d like to join the meeting tonight but can’t find the link. Can someone pls post it here again?:)

I registered a Kiez, but I haven't received any messages or communication since. Am I missing something, or is there just not much to talk about?
Svanu Wed 9 Jun 2021 9:12PM
So I'm in the process of figuring out what I need to organise as Lead for a brand new Kiez. I've got one specific question about something that's a bit ambiguous to me:
For the (max 5) people that can come to site early for build: do they require health insurance from a German insurance company, or just have health insurance providing coverage within Germany? The info on the spreadsheet suggests to me I need a German one, while build registration form seems to suggest being covered in Germany is sufficient.
Personally, I'm a Dutch national, but my Dutch-based insurance company also covers in Germany for everything I'm covered for here in the Netherlands.

walto Wed 9 Jun 2021 10:07AM
hey folks, observing from a distance, I noticed that it might not be clear to non-Germans why it is interesting to fill out a form to register their camp.
I would suggest to keep repeating the values of getting your Kiez registered every time you communicate about it.
Where I would definitely already suggest speaking about it more prominently:
the kieze registration form (on top) https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScUZ8LpX5FfepBuNg67qzRekuCdmoMSZv9uMETaXp8FS6Hwrw/viewform
this really amazing website overview (seriously, nice job on that one!) https://kiezburn.org/event/theme-camps
just to summarize the key benefits again:
reserve physical space to do your thing https://bit.ly/3g5HXXB
access to electrical power https://bit.ly/3iuJ9VY
immortalized on the website and in the workshop booklet https://bit.ly/3vaENpE
you can store things in storage https://bit.ly/3x6WgAL
people can find you on the map & you get contacted to host workshops at your camp
cooking & sharing with a group is less work, cheaper & more fun. There are lots of tips shared on how to do it all (e.g. Kieze drink order) https://bit.ly/3x9DUis
Kiez Burn is nothing without the Kieze, you are Kiez Burn
Franzi Tue 8 Jun 2021 9:14AM
@Erin Jeavons-Fellows do we already know how many people we can bring per camp for build? I think in the past it was limited? Not sure this also has an impact on corona protocols? @Hanna-Maija (Animal)

Erin Jeavons-Fellows Mon 7 Jun 2021 3:39PM
OK Kiezers, there has been a miscommunication with the direct ticket sale information. I apologise. Lots of information flying around.
Those who are not in the e.V or orga will have to get their tickets through the regular ticket sale.
If by chance one of your key people (in the list you sent over) cant get a ticket, we will then use the names written here to make sure you secure your ticket as a direct ticket.
So please communicate to those who are not in e.V or Org to get a ticket in the regular ticket sale this evening!!
Sorry for the miscommunication!!!

Erin Jeavons-Fellows Sat 5 Jun 2021 10:19AM
Kieze Leads should have received an email from me about the direct ticket sales.
Sven Dudink Fri 4 Jun 2021 3:17PM
Hi there, here is the link with the power guidelines: https://docs.google.com/document/d/19NxA4xVTSYjOusPfFHlQ8mVnbdkwNW0BNEE5dJZpm84/edit#

Veroca R. Sala Thu 3 Jun 2021 7:40AM
Toolhouse update here
@Erin Jeavons-Fellows , the Build team is forming, we do have a toolhaus lead, we just don't know which tools will be rented yet until the build plan is finalised, priority will be the orga build but as soon as tools are available the orga can lend tools if all goes well. Supporting the camps as much as we can.
Franzi Wed 2 Jun 2021 4:52PM
@Cris :)
Franzi Wed 2 Jun 2021 4:51PM
I guess the power auger is a tool question..its that machine that digs holes for poles and stuff

Erin Jeavons-Fellows Wed 2 Jun 2021 2:02PM
@Franzi I have moved your questions to here. I will be following up. If you think of more, feel free to add them!
Franzi · Fri 4 Jun 2021 5:35AM
we needed the auger every year for all camps..it digs the holes, to put in poles, to build structure. so it's not really a "waldo thing" its more a "most camps with shade structure things". :)
