Introduction
We are facing radical challenges. As individuals, as community, as society, as humanity.We are being called to pause and rethink. Let go of the attachment to reliability towards creatively co-creating a new way. KiezBurn is not just a physical space. To “burn” is a state of mind.
Kiez Burn amid change
KiezBurn has not been canceled - It has transformed and it is up to us how we will shape it to respond. How are we going to lead us through this change?How can we use this to bring us closer together and make us stronger? How to harness that uniquely human paradox in living more empowered lives in even the most vulnerable-making circumstances?
Dreams and Art are very special elements of our lives and KiezBurn, where we co-create a supportive environment for Self Expression of Art that provides connecting opportunities...and during these times we need that more than ever.
The initiative
We would like to create a Dreams Platform for dreams and projects that connect during these times. That brings us closer together. That express our being artistically. From funding to skills, we want to enable a way :)

Imagine...
A treasure hunt through the city for one person at a time - €€€ needed for materials: 50€
A digital unconference but €€€ needed for good servers: 100€
Grocery shopping for vulnerable groups - volunteers needed
Love letters! I will send 100 letters/postcards - €€ for stamps
Care packages for the doctors and nurses - volunteers needed
Letters to people hospitalized -
Zoom subscription for workshops - €€€ needed
DIY Seed Bombs, which we can throw from out windows and in our walks to the ground so they grow peacefully while we are inside

Open Questions
How do we set up the platform so people can easily donate to the different causes? (there was the idea to build in a donate button for every dream)
Is the Dreams Platform best suited for people to volunteer in helping out others’ Dreams? (there is the button to “volunteer now”, but probably could be placed in a better place)
What is the criteria for dreams to be uploaded?
How can we ensure transparency?

I love the quarantaenehelden and it is so encouraging to see there are so many more helpers than there are needs. I believe the added value we could bring with something like the Dreams platform, is to bring art, performance and self-expression back into the game.
As humans, we have base needs, but desire connection and "something more". I hope the Corona Dreams (we need to find a better name!) could do just that.

And regarding the input requirements.. I am not sure. Contact information? Location? How they connect/engage with the KB community?

I love it! it would be such a great outlet for all the creative energy floating around we could really combine it with leave a better trace and civic responsibilities <3

I removed the kiezburn form validations and skimmed the dreams form down to a few form inputs.
A couple of things we still need for the platform

Thank you everyone for the feedback and great points you've made, I agree with all of them.
I will start a google doc with the guidelines, welcome text, FAQ and support links. I will share it after for review.
What should our application process be? I agree with Alex that it should be open to the everyone, but I would like to use our principles as a framework.Any suggestions on this?
@Flo I super agree with your approach, if you could make those changes would be very happy. I talked to Saskia and she gaved her consent.

Thank you for the initiative @Daisy, I think it's a great idea to transform the dreamers platform into a covid-19-crisis dreamers platform. The Points you listed are great ideas.
There are already other websites sprouting up. One that I found interesting was https://www.quarantaenehelden.org/ which helps to connect people who need help and who want to help.
In order to turn the dreamers website into a sort of a listing platform for covid19 projects some things would have to be changed:
the forms of the dream creation
disable most of the validations that are in place
A dream would not be connected with the kiezburn event anymore and would have different requirements with different guidelines. These would have to be worked out.
As said earlier to fund the projects I'd say a link to a paypal pool or a gofoundme page would be good.
Some texts would need to be changed as well :
- FAQ, rewrite it or just leave the whole FAQ page out
- Front page - welcome text
If you agree with this approach, I could set the dreams website up shortly in a way that I believe would work.
But regarding texts and guidelines I'd need your help to align the text and the vision according to your ideas.

Regarding the application process, I believe these principles stand out:
no commerce & gifting: people donate money, but the gift that is enabled is unconditional and does not give something in return to the gift
Self expression: it is not "just" about helping people, but for people to search and find in themselves their own authentic and unique gifts
participation & community: we encourage sustainable connections between people, either through co-volunteering or shared experiences
Something to consider: do we have a geographical focus or even limit? Suggestion: focus on Berlin, but not exclusive
