Hi Johannes, and dear Finizio Team!
Here we are again! haha . Fortunately the last days was decided that we are doing the Kiez Burn :D
This week, are the final updates coming from the Gelände to see what has been set in place and in order to properly plan among other topics, the toilets! our favorite shitstorm haha. That's why I'm reaching out, to inform and arrange our Toilets Plan for the Burn!
Tomorrow, on Thursday we will have the new information from the Gelände, and I think on Friday i can get in touch with you with our Toilet Burn Enquiry. Hope you all are healthy and sound and talk to you soon.

Hallo Johannes! i hope you are doing good too,
Thank you so much for the Budget and the Docs! i'll take this to the Planning Board and yes you are totally right, those are a lot of toilets for the amount of guests, but i was trying to provide more than average due to Covid Measures, but as we know much uncertainty is still around, i'll definitely get back to you as soon as i have the feedback, it looks great! Thank you and talk to you soon.
Erik.

Thanks for filling out our questionnaire!
In the attachments you'll find a non obligative quote for the Kiez Burn 2021 and our terms and conditions(AGBs).
With how many people/guests incl. staff are you roughly calculating? 25 toilets and 10 Handwashingstations seem quite a lot.Best greetings. Looking forward to hear from you!

Hey @Jack thanks for the organising.
Tagging @Bee and @Kate for answers to your questions. Im not so sure about the details anymore 😊
Kaliope Fri 9 Jul 2021 4:51PM
Thx a lot! @Jan Thomas any details from Freiland Eric so far about the amount of shitboxes?
Kaliope Sun 11 Jul 2021 8:30AM
Dear @Jack, so far that's our info and what we agreed on:
How do the toilets work? Freiland toilets separate dry from wet waste and will have containers that need to be changed throughout the event. They are working together with an external contractor for emptying.
Costs: We agreed to support them in the construction and also to benefit for the next year by paying them the amount we spent last time for toilets. Since Freiland is now putting up significantly fewer boxes than needed, we will have to calculate the sum down again when it is finally determined how many there are. (In 2019 it was a total of 4,000 €, which is again in the budget for this year – we now have to split that into one payment to Freiland and one to Finizio)
If there are any more open questions let's chat:) Thx @Bee for answering most of them 💛
Mareike Sat 10 Jul 2021 7:48AM
Yes, @Jack please let Gate/Rangers & Parking know when the trucks will be arriving. The truck will probably not come to the Gate Gate, but immediately to the back Gate. In any case, it can only drive trough the back gate where Rangers should accompany it through the site at low speed

Jack Sat 10 Jul 2021 8:29AM
Hi @Jan Thomas thanks I am actually going myself as well so will be able to provide details
Bee Wed 7 Jul 2021 1:37PM
Thanks a lot Jack for moving this forward and updating us. Good news about the deposit and payments dates, this projected budget should hopefully be less one we confirm the toilets on site! Also for the male urinals I wonder if it's possible to set up something more DIY with a funner/container on a pallet and not have to pay for these on top of the toilet costs.
In terms of placement this is definitely something to consider with @Cairn (Clément) but will also be clearer when we can figure out the placement of the on-site-already pottys.
All of the following we can investigate next weekend on site:
How many toilets does Freiland have, and are they fixed in position?
How do Freiland toilets work exactly, i.e. do they separate dry from wet waste and do they have containers that need to be changed throughout the event?
How does Freiland handle the waste and waste water disposal (for their toilets)?
How much would Freiland charge for the use of their toilets?
- Nothing. It is my understanding that we in part help to fund the toilet build that they are doing. Maintenance & emptying may be the charge we pay ;) I will invite Kate/Annette to confirm. Is there a loader (weight lifting machine) on site to transport the IBC containers (1000L capacity)?
@Natacha Kromatik our Build lead should be able to answer this. There was discussions of some machinery. Is there good access for sewage pumping trucks?
We will have road access on site throughout the event to all corners that allows emergency services if needed to drive around the gelände. Sewage pumping trucks during the event may be problematic. Vehicles driving on site after the gate opens historically have also needed a Ranger escort walking in front of them ( @Cris and @Jessie are the contacts for this)Is the "black water" temporarily stored or emptied during the event?
Good question. You mean in alternative tanks to the toilets themselves? I think Freiland were talking about having a waste tank on site to use during their own event. I would have a chat with @Andreas Noack (Wasserprinz) who would have some knowledge from doing this role at Kiez Burn 18.What is the total number of participants?
1000What is the price per ticket?
€80What are the dates for "build" and "strike"?
Friday 6th August for the super early Build arrivals
12:00 on Wednesday 11th Gate opens & Burn begins
Sunday 15th August Strike begins until Weds 18th.
Mareike Sun 11 Jul 2021 12:09PM
yes! thanks, that's more to the point:)

CJ Yetman Sat 10 Jul 2021 1:46PM
Thanks @Mareike. Just to grind that point in a bit deeper… no vehicle may be moving on-site without Rangers or Site Lead escorting it on foot.
Jan Thomas Fri 9 Jul 2021 5:06PM
Yes, they have committed to having 9 eco-toilets built in prep for their event next weekend. We have a crew going there who will try them out and report back, I believe.

Cris Fri 9 Jul 2021 8:40PM
We'll try them out and bring back a detailed report with pictures and everything ;)

Cris Fri 9 Jul 2021 8:45PM
Access and black waters: If I'm not mistaken (hopefully Wasserprinz can confirm) in different moments of the past we've had: 1) big trucks emptying toilets during the event, and 2) compost-toilets with barrels. Once the barrel was full, it was sealed and storage behind the toilet.
So both possibilities are possible, although not the best. And yes, if any vehicle comes in site, Rangers must be called from Gate to accompany them across the Playa at 30 km/h. But Gate knows about this, right, @Mareike ?

@Dan de Lion! @Erez @Bee Hi guys, here the key info from my call with the service provider.
Summary from call with Johannes from Finizio (07.07.21):
They definitely still have capacity to provide us with toilets, urinals and handwashing stations. The price for the total original 2021 quote (see above) was around 9k though - way over budget.
Quote per unit (with servicing and everything included):
240-300eur per sanitary unit (incl hand-washing station)
34 eur per unit of male standing urinal
The mandatory "on-site"-service costs would be reduced if they get the two tickets and the toilets are kept in a relatively good shape throughout the event.
They might be able to provide us with female urinals - these are not "released" yet and are still being tested but might be ready until august
We agreed that I will collect infos on the open points below and call back after Freiland Sommerfest (16-18th July) to book it in. We definitely have verbally reserved "some" toilets, at least 10 I said
Other details:
Invoicing:
50% deposit to be paid within 2 weeks once we receive the quote
Pay total amount 2 weeks before the event
Placement:
They say the way their toilets are designed, its better to cluster them in certain locations and not distribute them all over the place. It would be more expensive if they werent clustered due to additional logistical effort and equipment.
Open points:
