Hey Craig, excellent news, I'm very glad to hear that!
Just an update from Finance. We haven't budgeted in Human Transportation this year, as it is a seperate and additional cost. We should be able to front the funding needed to get the buses, but It's quite important that those funds return to the kitty. We can use the Bank account to handle Bus-Ticket purchases as well to simplify things. If you have any finance related questions feel free to email at finance@kiezburn.org

all the best,
Alex

Hi Craig. It might be practical to fill the buses for the way there and the way back separately - meaning, separating the ticket sale for the way there from the tickets for the way back. As quite a few people will be involved either in build or strike, it would be great to be able to purchase a ticket only for one way.

Are the buses starting just from Berlin or are you planning to get some from Hamburg? :)

Regarding numbers: If a big bus company provides the service, they will have many different bus sizes available. Hence, you could get a quote from them for transporting, say, 100, 200 or 300 people back and forth. You could then sell an open amount of bus tickets for eg. 2 different times to go and come back (add a financial buffer to the per-person price of the quote the bus company gave you), and then once you see how many people bought tickets for each date (make the sales deadline early enough!), you could provide the bus company with the numbers and they will say that they would bring eg. 4x 50 seater buses and 1x 40 seater bus (etc.) to provide as exactly for the amount of people as possible. You'll have a small surplus of seats then, and could release the remaining seats for sale once the main sale finished. Then, ideally, all buses will be close to full. For estimating the numbers, look at last year's numbers, and scale them up according to how many more tickets were sold this year (more than last year). Also try to get info from the ticket sales database to see how many people are located in Berlin and how many somewhere else. I guess with the (in this regard low number) of attendees for a bigger scale event in makes sense to focus on providing multiple bus times from Berlin, and ask people to come to Berlin by themselves before? (I could be wrong about that, but I'm assuming most attendees come either from Berlin or it's kind of easy for them to reach Berlin.)

Hello lovelies, I am looking for a seat in a car or on a bus for Build weekend! I need to be on site to lead the Ranger HQ build and for the Saloon build, so this would be greatly appreciated, and would really help make some great projects happen much more effortlessly. All my non-personal items are already going in a big truck. Ideally looking for two spaces so me and @saskia31 can stay together but also looking for solo spots.

Given that we are now 1 month before the event, is it still realistic to plan human transport including the whole ticket part?

Following - will you update this when bus travel dates and tickets are available?

How are ticket sales going? Did we sell enough to cover all the costs or should we make more publicity?

The Bus Transport Page does not mention any sort of cargo limit, or what a person can reasonably bring with them. Is there any information available about this?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Robert i will update this. The buses are regular size buses so it's reasonable to say that taking case / pack for clothing etc, then camping facilities and food / drinks. If lots of people bring extras it could cause a problem with space. I will update the wording on the transport page. I would suggest any big items of cargo then it could be asked to some of the camps if they have any transport space with their loads which are not human transport. I think it just needs to be a common sense approach
