Greetings, this thread is for everyone who wants to contribute to Kiez Burn 2022 with a sound camp concept. That includes all projects that requires a sound system larger than a bluetooth box (larger than compared to a jbl charge 4). NO PIRATE SOUND SYSTEMS, WE WANT TO MAINTAIN GOOD RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE OWNERS OF THE SITE AND NEIGHBORS.
đ If you have such a sound camp concept you MUST apply for it in this thread â best before 21 March ;-).
Timeline
Please apply for your sound camp as soonish as possible.
The planning for the final decision / first meetings with sound camp groups will start approx. 21.03.
A final decision will then be made in the following weeks.
If you apply after the 21.03. your sound camp might not be considered.

Concept Since a Burn is also a musical event, we take the lead on that responsibility and make you shake your body with our music. We also provide a bass massage for the ears, a light show to entertain the eyes, LOTS of fog and some chill and cozy areas for.... whatever you want to do there. This time the sound comes straight from the core of the earth, the flaming sound of hell will have you shaking and bouncing. Each year, our stage design reflects one of the elements: in July the circle closes with the element of fire đ„. We are inspired by Dante's Inferno: descend into the underworld and take a journey you'll never forget!. |

Café Wonderland
Concept
Café Wonderland is a funny café space in a trippy happy chaotic atmosphere. For that we provide a big chill space as well as a crazy bar and small stage for performances. That includes theater, workshops, and music.
We donât see ourselves as a loud soundcamp, but more as an inviting space for spontaneous happenings entertained by music on a louder level, to have little bar boogies on a low db range, but more than bluetooth speakers.
Music
A wide range of music which includes DJ sets as well as live performances, both electronic and instrumental, that will bring a chill atmosphere for the day and funny, stupid vibes for evening and night times (world, circus, disco, downtempo, acoustic, folk, âŠ)
Soundsystem:
2 Teufel Rockster Air (we did a soundcheck and ended up with 70dB with 20meters distance on 70%power. so including the campsize i am positive we can turn them up till 80%). on two sides (west and north) we are completely surrounded with forest which will soften the sound a lot.
Size
The whole camp will be about 200-300m2 including chill space, bar, kitchen, and stage.
Desired Location
We donât want to be particularly loud , just entertain people with more than a bluetooth speaker. Last yearâs spot of CafĂ© Wonderland was great, but having just bluetooth speakers would not fit our concept. We wish for having semi-loud zones on the site again as these wonât disturb neighboring villages and would suit a lot of concepts of the kiezes, just like ours.

SEMI LOUD CAMP APPLICATION

Our Moon has grown from half to full. Join our pack of trippy werevolves for a psychedelic movie night at Full Moon Kino!
Concept
Full Moon Kino is a chill space focused on all aspects connected to psychedelics. During the day we will offer weird art, trippy workshops, intention setting and integration circles. During the night we will bring a curated program consisting of the best psychedelic movies, shorts and music videos out there. Imagine the old MTV on acid - that's us!
Music
Most music comes from our wide selection of Music Videos. Full Moon Kino should be a place where people have the opportunity to experience something different from typical electronic music: genres include Shoegaze, Psychedelic, Dream pop. We have a couple of our own DJs who will play their sets here. Most importantly, we would have better sound for our cinema. If no spot for soundcamp is possible we would like to be something in between.

Size
We need a bigger space than last year, as we are growing in the number of members as well as in what we plan to bring. We will have a bigger cinema which will also function as a workshop space during the day, let people chill out to our tunes and sometimes dance. 1.5/2 times the size of last year would be great.

We would like to have a slightly more accessible location as last year we were a bit too hidden, too small for what we plan to bring and on a hill, so not great for semi-loud. Any flat surface big enough to host our dream Kino would work - around where the Saloon was last year would be ideal. Or nĂž camp.

Potentially yes but it's not necessary, as the focus of our camp is more on the movie aspect. But like last year we will have a Community Night where filmmakers of Kiezburn can show their own movies.
Newbie status
We had the same concept last year as Half Moon Kino but not as a soundcamp (and our Moon is now full. Beware of werewolves!). We would like to be a bit bigger here. We have a couple of members with experience setting up Partys outside of Burns.

Don't want to spam this thread, but inform you: Music wise Oasis Zerzura & Psychedelic Nubicuculia won't come this year. (Cucu's might come as a Sauna-Camp) I still hope #downtempowegbassen will stay forever though.
And please inform your DJs that we have a soundcloud channel for all involved burners to post sets. :)

The sound protocol meeting is voluntary for anyone who would like to change the play times from last year and prepare an alternative proposal, which we can then coordinate with Freiland.

Hello community!
After the first sound meeting all loud camps are in place.
Now we would like to discuss about two other topics, which we believe involve ALL KIEZE.
These topics are:
- what we do with semi loud camps (those who have more than a bluetooth speaker but less than a proper sound system).
- make a new proposal to freiland regarding the sound protocol (for example to move the loud hours on Friday a bit later).

We are a queer sex and kink positive camp that offers a workshop / play space for the burn and a stage for performances. Focus on consent, safety and education.

We donât plan to have a dance floor or anything like that but some light background music when the facilitated play space is open, PA for the workshops and once a day a show with PA (music, speak / microphone etc). This would be in the evenings, between 9pm and midnight. We are not planning to make it extremely loud but would REAAALLLY like to have some sound to make performing more fun and have some workshops with music.

Hi @Marcel. Quick checkin as we'll have to deliver workshops and program points by tomorrow to be included in the printed version of the program. Since with Schlampagne we'll be one of those "semi loud" camps, I would like to know what I can write in the program or not. Has their been any new information on this?

Hi @Andre Nik . I didn't hear anyone saying anything definitive against semi-loud camps so I think we will give it a try.
Can you update your application with the (new) points (Sound system, Sound lead, Sound regulator, ...)?
The idea is to make a sound check before the event to define reasonable subjective limits
(Maximum volume: normal conversation volume (circa 60 dB) 20 meters away from the border of the respective camp)
(During quiet times: not louder than a. small bluetooth speaker (eg. jbl charge 4) at living room volume)
So I think if you stay in these limits then you are good.

Hiya everyone,
Excited to propose our Kiez.
Name
Bangers and Mash
Concept
Our camp focuses on creating that warm fuzzy feeling with an intimate setting, beautiful visuals and an interactive audio visual experience.
We have a custom built audiophile speaker setup, we focus on crisp high quality sound rather than high volume.Â
We will also have plenty of space to chill bringing sofas and cushions so you can enjoy the party vertically or more horizontally.Â
The main visuals will be provided by a one-of-a-kind light installation of orbs which gently glow and emit smoke. You can see a video of the installation here: https://vimeo.com/350731253.Â
The installation also features a custom built pink grand piano (hiding a custom synthesizer), which is connected to the orbs. When the piano plays or is played, the light and smoke react/respond to the music. We will have set times where we will encourage people to come play, jam and interact (we make bubbles too).Â
Music
The music we will facilitate will be a mix of live performances (both electronic and instruments), DJ sets and jam sessions. Â
The lineup will focus on the fun, trippy cute and silly side of music. A few of us DJ and play live, but we are going to be putting out invitations to come and play.

Size
We have a dome with 8m diameter and we would like to have another 10x10m section next to the dome for a slightly bigger dancefloor / bar / chillspace when required. We would also like a 6x6 meter space to set up our living quarters.Â

To the North of the loud zone.

We will also put a strong emphasis on outreach and put out invitations for musicians to come and perform at our camp. We hope this can be a really wide range of things including: Live electronica, ambient, acoustic/folk, classical performers, and DJs.Â
Newcomer
This will be our first time making a camp at Kiezburn, but we come with many years of experience running theme camps at burns elsewhere, running our own festivals and also stages and installations at festivals around the UK.
