Stretch Tent propsal

B Bee Public Seen by 33

Hello all!
Following up on a suggestion from the Spark planning weekend during the KORG meeting.

-> It seems that Deine Mudda will use the newly built structure on site as the production kitchen area.

Which could mean freeing up the use of the stretch tent for other production purposes?

If so:

We propose the stretch tent now be reallocated to Gate purposes and be used for shade on entrance for hot hippies waiting to get through the wristband and Covid checks.

This was a suggestion from @Professor Kaos initially.

Please give your feedback...

Deine Mudda / Monkeys / Site Planning / Build (I can't tag everyone I need to)!

having the stretch tent at gate would be super helpful. 1. We don't have a greeter space yet that is covid safe (the yurt is too small for volunteers & greeted people + distance) 2. together with the new parking volunteers there will be more volunteers that need a shaded/rainprotected space at gate 3. the new gate area is flat and big enough for the stretch tent (compared to the tight space at old gate) 4. it could also be used as a workshop space on saturday when there will be hardly any volunteers there anymore.

I will pass on Paul (gate) & Nina (greeting)s thoughts on this as they are not on talk..

The new structure in DM area is an open wooden-structured roof, pretty sturdy, aprox. 4,5x3 m. I reckon it's enough to keep the cooking area+fridges+storage somehow safe and dry, but that'd be it. This structure it's completely open, so side rain will still find it's way.

Deine Mudda doesn't have any other rain-resistant structure, so we'll have to figure sth out.

Yeah we will need to talk about this in our camp meeting. since we are running the volunteering kitchen and feeding build + strike, we might need the tent again.

@Franzi i think deine mudda meeting will be a different thing in this case (?), as we can't really decide it ourselves (?)

If monkeys cant use the gate yurt anymore for covid reasons maybe the covid budget can afford that (?) @Professor Kaos instead of removing it from deine mudda?

I (and the other greeting lead Helene) totally agree with everything Mareike said ! yessss we want it if DeineMudda doesn't need it :) if that's not possible, something else would be good. but we will also talk about it (gate/greeting-infrastructure) this weekend!

So, the Secret Council of the Muttiness has spoken and we wont give away the stretch tent, if we are to feed the filthy hippies. Master @Otto has spoken and Master @Melinda Gonzalez will apply.

But, because Mudda is wise and merciful, we offer as a compensation the memory of actually having another tent, last year's 1st Aid tent! (This year 1st Aid is bringing their own)

I'll update further details as I get them, or just add them if you remember better. But the walls are mobile, it can be open! This I know.

Obviously we don't want to leave the kitchen high-and-dry (or do we?), but extending the current structure at DM is much much easier and cheaper than creating an entire new wide-spaced-and-covered structure at gate.

@Veroca R. Sala suggestion of redirecting some of the Covid money via the move of the tent to gate could be used to provide extended shading.

@Max you cannot put screws or holes in the structure, but it is incredibly stable and attaching additional shades/covers via straps/ropes etc. is totally feasible. I also understand that you're very massive shade-structure wood could make useful secondary anchors to this new 'kitchen shade' without directly affecting at least the size of the DM camp.
