Tech/material insurance

As in the last year, production, artists and camps are supported by a tech material insurance.. But it has some restrictions:

  • We can only cover items and materials with our material insurance for things that are mandatory for the vent. This would be for example: sound systems, expensive tools, DJ equipment, stages, constructions etcetc
  • We do NOT cover any kind of private items such as phones, ipads, tablets, private cameras etcetc. We'll remove items which appear to be too personal. Musical instruments are also not covered, be as careful with them as you would be everywhere else.
  • The insurance is mostly to cover damage of things. It has a decuctible/excess of €200, so entering devices with a lower value it is probably pointless.
  • While the insurance would cover theft, it won't pay for tech being stolen which is laying around, we/you might have to prove that it was stolen from a locked room. And even then the insurance is paying only for 75% of the value.

DEADLINE 30th May 2019 (it is unclear if the coverage can be extended if you make up your mind too late and come late with something very expensive)
If you have any questions please reach out to Owl (owl@berlinburner.de)

@holgerwessels I am pretty sure I added three people (james, tabea, andre) for Camp Schlampagne but can you let me know if I did it correctly? Or where can I see the final list that was sent to the insurance company?

All three are in the list. :-) They wanted to be on site from 16th, did they already arrive?

Hi Konsti, I'll gonna forward the question to the insurance broker.
From my personal understanding the question would be: how is the keyboard usually insured? I've read that a Hausratversicherung sometimes covers damages if they happen within closed buildings, but not elsewhere. Otherwise I personally would see the keyboard a an instrument, and everything would probably go as stage equipment. I think in the past none of Kiez Burn one of the Bärs had a tech insurance which included musical instruments (and I can't remember seing them on the insurance list), so this year would be no difference. The owner of the instrument should have a close eye on hers/his precious (or their own year-round insurance)?
But since this is do-ocracy, you could also work towards a descision about insuring musical instruments, and check the pros and cons. Current main focus for the insurance is liablity and event-necessary technical equipment, and our current insurance draws a line there.

Could you please confirm that our Salon is good to go now? Else we´d need to work on solutions for the build asap. Lots of love and thanx again.

@holgerwessels yes this is a question also. We have our kiez build and then we have our ship build. We would need about 5 people for each.
