Hey @janthomas and @erinjeavonsfellows,
I'll do drinking water, fill ups, installations and maintance with a small team but won't do grey and wastewater, otherwise it's getting too much. Since the showers are the main Grey water source would be great to get this covered by a shower team.

That is excellent news! I am thrilled to see that my initiative is already done! hahaha
I will do daily cleanup/wipe down and I will also decorate the area a little bit with my octopus and inflatable dolphins. I hope everyone enjoys the aqua shower :)

Will gladly help Clean the showers every day.

@danielregev and @janthomas could you describe what exactly dealing with grey & waste water means? Possibly starting a new thread in this group and linking it into the responsibility on realities? https://realities.kiezburn.org/394e3035-ee35-4d41-889a-a35189b9a281/46233a60-9f19-4064-867e-03c41cad147a
That way we can clearly direct ppl that are interested to the necessary info :) Effective recruiting ;)

I can do shower cleaning with Martijn but I cant take on any more work. Grey water topic will have to be covered by someone else! FIngers crossed someone else can do that task

It's looking good for grey water help - @andreasnoack is looking into this for toilet waste anyways, so this might sort it :-)
Andreas Noack Wed 10 Apr 2019 12:07PM
hello so i already put my name in the realities sheet! also i contacted the waste water company and it is 10,21 per cubic meter. also on Saturdays and Sundays they charge extra so we probably get waste water transported of site on Wed/Fr/Mo or similar.

however way you want to reach her :) Her email is on realities, but you can also find her on talk @verocarsala or she also is active on facebook. She often comes to leads meetings as well :D
Jan Thomas Thu 4 Apr 2019 11:05AM
I had already written that up in a reply further up in the thread. Now it's also been added to Realities.

Martijn Thu 4 Apr 2019 11:09AM
Done.
I'm new to this system so it takes a little figuring out.
Can I mail Veronika directly or should I use an "in system" way of communicating ?
(i am so excited to be part of this!)

@martijn Hi there. Soon I'm gonna open a thread to update a little how is it gonna work out volunteers this year. So you know I will forward all the leads a form asking about how many many volunteers would they need and some other things as well. I'll announce the date on talk so everybody can start gathering that information. Any ways you can easily reach me by email veronicarodriguezsala@gmail.com

walto Thu 4 Apr 2019 11:01AM
Very cool @martijn ! Do you want to sign yourself up as the realizer of that topic here: https://realities.kiezburn.org/394e3035-ee35-4d41-889a-a35189b9a281/a48b0a58-8170-4581-bae5-5aa27945ef47 ?
You could also consider having some volunteers help with that, by collaborating with the volunteer coordinator Veronika - here is more info on how to contact her: https://realities.kiezburn.org/74f8f594-3f7d-4587-bc6d-505d8671097d

@erinjeavonsfellows I believe we stll need someone for grey water in order to actually make the showers happen, since we struggled with the amount of grey water from the showers last year...
Jan Thomas Tue 2 Apr 2019 7:55AM
@erinjeavonsfellows Great! Are you planning to get a team together around this? There are 2 shower containers, and if we wanted to have both of them active they'd both need maintenance and grey water...
I can help with knowledge around the grey water - essentially we need to
* arrange to get the grey water tanks via Freiland (at no cost, as they're already on site from their own festival)
* organise grey water disposal with GKU Demmin who will send a truck to pump out (costs a few 100€
* check fill level of the tanks on site during the event, and prevent overflow in case it gets tight
* ensure that the pump out actions happen as planned, or organise additional pump runs
Daniel Regev Sun 31 Mar 2019 9:59PM
In that case, I would strongly suggest: no shower team = no showers. It is indeed by far the biggest grey water source (and indeed was quite dirty last year). I think the showers are a great way to push our motto forward - it'll happen if you make it happen, and it won't if you don't. There is a risk here of having a lot of the "dangerous motto", which is "oh, so nice, someone else is doing this for me, yay, I can simply enjoy it!". I'd suggest that someone who feels this topic is important for them (personally I can live without this in KiezBurn) make a call-out and look for a Lead for this. I'm sure @danielaquariusdrin would be happy to assist/consult?

Hey @erinjeavonsfellows - Thanks for taking initiative! Luckily this is something that we get for free from Freiland. They own the shower containers, and they will be on site again in the same locations as last year. All water connection & grey water aspects are handled by @danielaquariusdrin so I believe this area is mostly under control!
The only aspect that I can think of to improve from last year is shower maintenance - If we could find a way to have them cleaned up a bit each day that would make it way nicer!
