Monitoring sound levels

In order for us to have sound, we need to:
1. communicate how to do sound
2. do a soundcheck before all hell breaks loose (probably the wednesday)

Rocca and Karl are 2 sound guys (Rocca does sound for Zerzura) who volunteered yesterday to help with the measuring of the loudness around the site. Would be good to communicate the sound rules of last year from randy. These are the sound rules of last year: https://loomio-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/files/000/139/828/original/kiezburnsoundprotocol.pdf (they are pretty cool :D )

A sound check is possible when the power is there (probably the wednesday, to be confirmed by Sven later)

@janthomas as site liaison is able to help with this topic as well.

Hey @roko - Great! In our final permit from the Amt we received the following detailed guidelines for noise restrictions: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nif7rlgwin31qt6/AllowedNoiseLevels.png?dl=0

Would be great if you could please reflect the different levels in your checks - to be pragmatic I would suggest to only focus on the day level of 70dB and the night level of 55dB, i.e. ignoring the others to keep it simple for the sound camps.

But I don't know about electricity planning, best you hit them up in the Power thread!

if you can organize it yourself, great, otherwise I could support. It is something I have never done, so would be open to learn a bit about how that stuff works :D

We can already talk on Tuesday on how the camps should orientate the sound system?

you register on realities: https://realities.kiezburn.org/48b3fe06-6662-4800-84c7-1d8fecae25f4/2cbe070b-f02c-428f-8bcf-784acfb31d99 and then sign up to be the realizer.

regarding how many times etc.:
1. rules need to be communicated to the sound camps
2. sound check needs to be done before the main start of the event (e.g. wednesday morning or tuesday morning - depending on power)
3. sound check might be needed when there are complaints coming into the site lead cell phone or on-site ppl.

ideally there is some guidance in the site lead handbook @cj (will send him this thread) for how site leads can deal with these kind of issues when you are not around (or how to find you)
