Location & Date for KB2019
Announcements, questions and discussion around date & location for our beloved event...
Location
Freiland provided a great new home to us in 2018, the collaboration with them was great and they are keen to have us back! Had a meeting with them on the weekend (19 Jan) which reconfirmed this.
We also have local support in the neighbouring village and tentative verbal approval to run again from the village mayor as well as the Ordnungsamt... The process of locking it in formally has already started too!

Date
During the initial review and "how might be Kiez Burn" talks there was discussion and agreement that a date earlier in summer is best, so we can capitalise on everyone's spring energy and are done before the main festival circuit and holiday periods start.
So given that Freiland have their own festival at the start of June, this essentially only leaves us with the option to run on the exact same weekend around summer solstice as the last 2 years, and again one week before Fusion.
So the tentative date for Kiez Burn 2019 is:
Wed 19 June till Sun 23 June
This is also pre-agreed with Freiland, village & Ordnungsamt already... So I hope nobody will bring up with any serious concerns that would speak against this!

As nobody seems to have any concerns: I have now officially handed in our application to the local authorities and will announce date & location on Facebook tomorrow! Last chance to comment ;-)

Preliminary agreement with Freiland is that we can get on to start build from Friday 14 June (probably evening, like last year). How long we want to clear the site afterwards is up to us really, so I would say till the weekend after us i.e. 29/30 June.
Also update from Ordnungsamt - they are expecting to close the formal loop with the Gemeinde & Landkreis this week and then we should get an update next week with our Auflagen.

I would suggest to post location & date on Facebook & Website ASAP and am happy to do this, so we can get it on people's radar and get the ball rolling - also regarding the first meetup etc. Any concerns/blockers?
