Pictures used in dreams by dreamers & copyright

S Saskia Public Seen by 56

A dreamer asked the following question:
"I don't have the rights for the image I use. Any advice on this?"

I don't have any knowledge and advice regarding this. Who is responsible for the images? Does the usage of images that are not owned by either KB or the dreamer pose a legal threat? To whom? Any best practice?

@saskia31 ive been collecting images from people who have gifted some and given us permission to use on the website. I would say if you wish to use an image of someone in the kiezburn community then i would ask for permission
I don't think we pose any legal threat generally of pics outside the community

Now the other way around: For a poster to be shown at the STATISTA Präsentationswoche (part of the Berlin Art Week 11.–15.9.2019) to illustrate our common project of the Burner Embassy Berlin, @karlowalz suggested using one of his pictures of the Kiez Burn effigy burn. The people in the picture aren't clearly visible, but the art (the effigy) is. Are there objections to using the picture in a non-profit Burner context?

I think they are referring to the images used on the dreams platform. Some of them are clearly symbol pictures taken from the interwebz. ;)

The Designers of the Effigy are not available to Talk. But I have spoken with them in the past and they are more than happy to have the image shared by the community for non-profit purposes.
