Art Placement

RP Randy Pence Public Seen by 260

This is were we can discuss placement of art objects
Please find the final site planning here: http://bit.ly/2qVmBkM

On-site art placement will be the responsibility of the art team. This includes:
* orientating artists that are looking at where they need to put their art piece
* making it clear on-site with a flag or whatever that the art piece will be there
* setting a perimeter around the place where the art piece will be, so that no tents will occupy it.

Still to place is the Wheel of Spinning Motion. Getting power to it isn't an issue, but Area 51's hangers are currently occupied, so shelter needs to be worked out

Hi Randy and Waldo! I would like to change the placement of The Flutterby Grove - I think it would be best next to Dhaba Super Ghetto - but this is not currently showing as having power... is that right? The current site is not going to work for the installation as the tree were not quite high enough and the ground not quite flat enough... Sorry about delay on getting to this, I had a busy week helping witha move.

i don't see an issue with it there aside from the fact that you will not have natural shade during the day. Also, this was formerly a kiez location and might need to then be patially reserved for free camping.

@randypence @waldo could you confirm that the hungry caterburner gets power? can't tell by this map; it was in the request but I have the artist asking to confirm

@randypence @waldo We got a late email to art that asked for advice on how to place their piece. this is what they wrote:
Hi, I need around 300W of power, and probably even less (just a regular power socket will do...)

As for site requirements, I will need a relatively flat area, I need to place two poles standing around 2-5 meters from one another (depends on the placement), and they will have the LEDs on them. If there are local vertical surface I can use it's best, otherwise I will bring poles, but will need help with rebars and tools to stick them in the ground (flying from Israel, so it's getting complicated to bring all those things).
Other than that, I will also need at least 5 meters of clear area in front of the poles so people can stand in the distance and look at it... imagine having a 2 meters tall TV screen... So the sides of it will be the poles and then you'll need a distance to look at it properly :)

Thanks!
Shay

@waldo do I need to do it on the google map? or just tell them that is where they could probably find a space and let them figure it out when they show up

Hey all -- I think that it is fine to place the wheel at the camp

RP

would it be an issue for the wheel of spinning motion to build a shelter themselves? We do not have any sheltered area where this can stay on-site during the event... @oliviaehe

Seems like a good idea to put it to the saloon. We just need to figure out where stuff will go. Preferably together. Any more info on the wheel?
